Synthetix 5 (S5) is a pre-mixed urine designed to mimic human urine for the purpose of passing drug tests.

In this review, I’ll unpack the kit, discuss its pros and cons, and guide you on how to use it to pass a drug test.

Urine

The urine is of regular quality, which is adequate unless it is tested with advanced systems like Urinecheck 7 that detect synthetic products.

As I’ve noted before, lower quality urines can be detected by specialized tests, so I recommend staying clear of cheap alternatives.

The urine has a natural yellow color and is suitable for both males and females.

For a drug test, you will need between 1 to 1.5 ounces of urine. The kit provides 3 ounces, enough for two tests. The shelf life is typically about 2 years, but it’s not specified here.

If you plan to use it more than once, remember to freeze the leftover urine immediately after opening to prevent bacterial growth, which would spoil it.

Bottle

The kit includes a flat bottle that can be tucked into your pants, unlike some round bottles that are less convenient.

Although the flat design is an improvement, I prefer other methods for concealing synthetic urine as placing a bottle in your pants can be uncomfortable and impractical.

For better concealment, I suggest using a stealth leg belt or another method.

The bottle also comes with a temperature strip attached, allowing you to easily check the urine temperature before submitting the sample.

However, be cautious as some strips may not display the temperature accurately, leading to potential test failure. It’s always safer to double-check the temperature with a digital thermometer.

As shown in the photo, the urine temperature reads 91.2°F, but the temperature strip incorrectly shows it between 96°F and 98°F. Additionally, the indicator on the strip is very faded and difficult to read.

Cap

The kit includes a flip-up spout cap, which is really handy. In the tense environment of a drug test room, it can be hard to screw and unscrew a cap.

This cap is easy to open with just one finger and tough enough not to spill accidentally under your clothes.

Heating methods

This kit comes with one heating pad, a common tool to keep urine warm for a drug test. Oddly, it includes enough urine for two uses but only one heating pad.

This means you can only use the kit once unless you buy extra heat pads.

The included heating pad is quite large. It’s designed to wrap around the urine bottle to warm it up quickly. However, this comes with drawbacks.

If you hide it close to your body, it might burn your skin, which is definitely something you want to avoid during a drug test.

Moreover, you should place the heat pad on the side opposite the temperature strip. Heat pads can overheat, affecting the accuracy of the temperature reading.

With such a big pad, it’s likely to contact the strip and mess up the reading. This makes it hard to ensure the urine is at the right temperature.

This pad is a standard one, used for warming hands or feet in cold environments, and can reach up to 165°F, which is too high and might overheat the urine.

If it’s too hot when you’re ready to use it, you’ll face the challenge of cooling it down quickly, with only four minutes to submit the sample.

There’s no info on how much heat this pad actually emits, so I’d recommend buying two kits to test one before the real test.

The positive side is that this heat pad has an adhesive side, making it easy to attach to the bottle without needing rubber bands.

The pad is supposed to retain heat for up to 8 hours, but to be cautious, I’d rely on it for about 6 hours. It also takes around an hour to heat the urine to 100°F. If you need it warmed up faster, you’ll have to microwave it.

How to use Synthetix 5 to pass a drug test

The kit includes instructions printed on the box. Here’s how you use it:

• Take off the top of the bottle.
• Heat the urine bottle in the microwave for 15 seconds.
• Do not microwave for more than 15 seconds.
• After heating, check the temperature strip. It should read between 90-100°F.
• If the temperature is still out of range, repeat the heating.
• If the temperature strip shows no reading but the bottle feels warm, the urine is too hot and needs cooling.
• Place the flip-up spout cap on the bottle.
• Open the heating pad.
• Attach the self-adhesive heating pad to the bottle, making sure it’s on the side opposite the temperature strip.
• Conceal the bottle carefully to avoid skin contact with the heating pad, as it can cause burns.
• In the drug testing room, simply take out the bottle, open the flip-up spout cap, and pour at least 1 oz of urine into the sample cup.

Conclusion

Synthetix5 is a basic synthetic urine kit designed for one-time use. It’s affordable, so it might work for a less critical drug test where they don’t check for synthetic urine.

However, if the test result is crucial, such as for a life-changing job, I recommend choosing a more reliable option.
